Last night one was taken to the outdoor cinema for the first film of one's season (of course the outdoor cinemas have been in full swing for a good month or two now) but one hadn't yet managed to get to a film.
An Education was highly recommended and one had been wanting to see it for some time. Its a tale of the decisions we make and their intended and unintended consequences. As one synopsis one read said, its a tale of a young girl (Jenny) meeting a worldly man (David) and their burgeoning love affair. To say anything further would spoil the story. Click on the link above for a preview.
Carey Mulligan plays 16 year old Jenny and is AMAZING, even going head to head with Emma Thompson. Peter Sarsgaard plays David, his portrayal of a 30 something with passion for life is infectious.
Highly recommended, the sets and costumes are delightful and well worth a trip to the cinema (indoor or outdoor).
